Techniques

Muay Thai is the Science of Eight Limbs, it utilizes the hand, elbow, knee and leg weapons. There are many variations on how to express each of these weapons. Below is an introduction to the Thai language and some of techniques we use in the 1st and 2nd Khans.

Counting 1 – 10 in Thai

1 = Neung – pronounced (NONG) 
2 = Somg
- pronounced (SONG)
3 = Sahm - pronounced (SAM)
4 = See - pronounced (SEE)
5 = Hah - pronounced (HA)
6 = Hok - pronounced (HO)
7 = Jet - pronounced (JET)
8 = Bpairt - pronounced (BAHT)
9 = Gao - pronounced (GOW)
10 = Sip - pronounced (SEEP)

Hello = Sawatdee (KRUP) Male or Sawatdee (KA) Female
Bow = Wai
Thank you = Kop Koon
(KRUP) Male or Kop Koon (KA) Female
Boxer = Nak Muay
Warrior = Nak Soo
Fight = Chork
Stop = Yud

Yes = Khrap
Left = Sai

Right = Kwaa
Forward = Rouk
Backwards =Touy
Stepping = Seup
Change Stance = Seua Yang
